Am I leading them to Jannah?

When we watch or entertain ourselves with certain shows they will deaden our hearts, but by turning back to Him we can revive them. Whereas watching such shows or doing such activities with our children or having them observe us doing so can end up lowering their thoughts of us, their reverence of us, and could have lasting irreparable effects.

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying. “Allah fixed the very portion of adultery which a man will indulge in. There would be no escape from it. The adultery of the eye is the lustful look and the adultery of the ears is listening to voluptuous (song or talk) and the adultery of the tongue is licentious speech and the adultery of the hand is the lustful grip (embrace) and the adultery of the feet is to walk (to the place) where he intends to commit adultery and the heart yearns and desires which he may or may not put into effect.

Our ability to positively lead and rear our children to success is our greatest asset as parents as it can give them the skills, and more importantly, the heart and minds to persevere and regularly turn to, and bring the remembrance and worship of Allah when faced with His blessings and His trials.

How often do we hear people, especially great people recall very powerful statements they were told by their parents that had a positive, impactful and long lasting effect on them. They are innumerable, many times it was their biggest influence. On the other hand, how many people comparatively do you hear recalling statements from their friends.
