“I’m a Muslim Girl, in a Cyber World”

So much of our lives now revolve around social media. Snap this. Insta that. Like that post. Share this one. An entirely new dimension of communication, relationships, and even work has emerged over the last decade and as a result, the way we live our lives has also changed to follow suit.

As Muslims, it is already challenging enough to navigate the ins and outs of our everyday lives, working hard to avoid the pitfalls of the dunya and the temptations of our desires in the real, Human-to-Human interactions of this world. So what is a Muslim to do in the cyber world? In a world of tweets, emojis, filters, likes and instant sharing?

Over the next few weeks, we will be delving into the world of social media and cyber space, beginning to explore how Muslim women and girls can navigate this new, constantly changing territory. Before we begin, we want to hear what YOU want to know about. What are you curious about? What are you unsure of?

Share what you’d like to see us explore and discuss in the comments section below, and check back next week for the first official post in this series!
